Rich Hurst wanted to work in radio from the age of 16. Born and bred in the beautiful Westcountry, Rich moved to Hampshire when he was 18 to study to be a journalist.

He began working at 107.4 The Quay in news and sport, but quickly moved to being a presenter. After a couple of years, he secured the drivetime show in April 2006, and then moved to host the breakfast show in 2007. In 2008, he was joined by Hayley as his new co-host for the show.

Rich and Hayley now wake you up every weekday morning from 5am, on Portsmouth’s Morning Portion. Get the latest news sport and travel mixed with daily banter from your esteemed hosts. There’s a look at the days telly titbits in Ray’s Reviews, your guide to what’s on in Pompey, a good slice on entertainment news and showbiz and the best game on the radio – Celebrity Battleships!

Rich lives in Southsea, and when he’s not at work, you’re likely to find him playing football at Langstone Campus in the five-a-side leagues, not very well though! On a night out, he’ll be happy with a pint in his hand somewhere along Albert Road, in more than one place if possible! You might spot him going for a run around the seafront, as Rich is a health and fitness freak, sticking to a strict diet of chicken kievs and chips, sausages beans and mash, or spag bol on the rare occasion that he strays.

 New York, New York…so good they named it twice…can’t be bad!

Daniel Craig in my current years, Chandler from Friends in my younger days.

If you were stranded on a dessert island which 3 people would you take with you?  

My mum, so I don’t feel so stranded, Cat Deeley to make the days a bit more bearable, a big brother contestant, to inspire me to escape.

Who would be your celebrity dream date?  

Kimberley from Girls Aloud – one day it will happen!

What is the one item you can't live without ?  

My voice, I’d get the sack for a start!
