Radio is the career that Carl always wanted to be in. He did his work experience at the tender age of 15 at the local BBC radio station in Birmingham and from that day, he knew he where he wanted to be.... Portsmouth! He became a civil servant after completing his A Levels, and then moved to the South Coast after meeting his now wife in 1995. He spotted an ad for a job at his local radio station!
Carl has been with The Quay since August 2000, working behind the scenes looking after the scheduling of our commercials. When The Quay won the rights to cover Pompey games, Carl became part our Sports Team, pressing all the buttons in the studio, ensuring that everything went right from a technical perspective. He became more involved in the on air side of things when he started presenting the sports bulletins which lead to presenting one of the weekly football hours as well as the pre-match build-up and post-match phone-in.
Carl now produces Pompey Live as well as previously presenting Drivetime, he now is on the air getting your favourite songs every weekday from 10am.He has a passion for music and a CD collection to go with it. He loves football, in fact, sport in general but doesn’t have the time to keep fit himself!
