Ben Foster

Firstly Ben is a brand new converted Blues fan and proud of it too. Working here it kind of comes with the territory!

Ben is thankfully the better side of 30 but not for long and at last he has finally settled down and found himself a worthy station to get passionate in his favourite part of the world, right here on the South Coast.

Ben’s been presenting radio since he was 16 when he started using quarter inch tape and splicing edits the good old fashion way but it was a summer job at his local radio station in Hong Kong where he went to school with Michael Hutchins no less, when he was bitten by the radio bug and the rest has been a very bumpy and eventful history but something Ben would never swap for the world, it’s taught him everything he knows and radio is in Ben’s blood.

Over the last decade he’s worked for The Quay’s sister station in Bournemouth, Fire 107.6 where he fronted daytimes, overnights on other stations along the coast and in the Midlands. He’s worked for over 20 different commercial stations and been heard nationally on network programmes too.

Ben first came to Portsmouth in 2007 to cover shows here at The Quay, he went off to work on the region’s biggest station then decided he really missed the crew at The Quay and the station and in the later part of 2008 Ben became fulltime taking over The Quay daytimes and launching a brand new Saturday morning show too.
