Mad March Hair Campaign
Join in the madness to raise funds for The Rowans Hospice. Get your work colleagues, family and friends to pay a £1 to dye their hair, wear a wig, shave their head, go spikey or wear curlers. Debra Charity Fundraising and awareness night.
Debra Charity Fund raising night. We are the Co-Op clubs chosen charity for 2010 so please come and help us raise much needed funds by joining us for a night of fun and entertainment with DJ Colin Ricketts and cabaret singer Kris Graham. We are the only charity that supports children born with E.B. (Epidermolysis Bullosa) a genetic skin dis-order to which there currently is no cure. Funds raised will provide vital research, specialist nursing and treatment.
Tickets are £5, available from the club
and the charity's shop at 102, Fratton Road. The time is 19.30 - Late.

Sport Relief Sailing Mile
On Saturday 13th March, Sunsail will be taking their fleet of Sunfast 37s down to Gunwharf Quays in Portsmouth for the day, to get anyone and everyone sailing a mile for Sport Relief. For those who have never sailed before, it’s a great charity challenge, with Sunsail Skippers volunteering their time to make it possible for everyone to complete their mile. For the more seasoned sailor, it’s a great excuse to get out on the water and raise loads of cash for a good cause.
There will also be the chance to jump on board a celebrity boat and rub shoulders with the likes of Dee Caffari who will be coming down for the day to take part and show her support for Sport Relief.
Gunwharf Quays is the ideal place for the sailing mile to take place, with easy acces from the M27 and a fantastic range of facilities and on-shore amenities for participants to take advantage of on completion of their sailing challenge.
The public can secure a spot on one of the yachts for a minimum donation of just £10, which goes directly to Sport Relief. Alternatively for a donation of £950 you can have the whole yacht for the day, skipper included, to do as you wish… after completing the mile of course. If you want to sail in style, Sunsail are also auctioning off spaces on Dee’s yacht. Keep an eye out on the website to see how you can bid. Visit www.sunsail.co.uk/sport-relief to book your spaces and Sunsail will be in touch to tell you your allotted time, yacht and all other details. Alternatively, a booking line will be open from 20th February. Call 0844 463 6704. Havant Youth Sail Training Scheme Open Day
Havant Youth Sail Training Scheme Open Day, 20th March, 10am-4pm
HYSTS is a charity, supported by Hampshire County Council, Youth Clubs Hampshire and Isle Of Wight and the RYA, offering sailing to young people between the ages of 11 and 18 years for just £10 per day sail, which includes all sailing kit required. Sailing takes place at the weekends with six hour sessions(depending upon the tide and weather!) run by qualified Senior Instructors. You do not have to have sailed before as HYSTS has a range of sailing boats available to cater for all sailors, from beginners to those who are more advanced. In addition we have a fleet of powerboats in which safety cover is provided by our fully trained volunteers.
We also offer volunteer opportunities for over 18’s in everything from committee members to powerboat drivers, with full training given.
Our Open Day offers you the chance to find out more about HYSTS by seeing our boats and kit and talking to volunteers and members. We’ll also have some fun competitions for you to take part in!!
So, whether you are a young person wanting to sail or someone who has a few spare hours and wants to volunteer with HYSTS, why not come along to our Open Day and see what we can offer you?
