Crazy for you
Venue: New Theatre Royal
Date: Fri 12th Mar 2010
Time: 7:30 pm
Wannabe star Bobby Child is sent by his mother to the sleepy town of Deadrock, Nevada, to close its run down theatre. Here he encounters Polly Baker and falls head over heels in love. Unfortunately the theatre is owned by Polly's father. Bobby hatches a scheme to save the theatre, win the girl of his dreams and revive the town.
Famous for its memorable Gershwin songs, such as Someone To Watch Over Me and I Got Rhythm, Crazy for You is a hilarious upbeat musical comedy, full of mistaken identity, romance and toe tapping musical numbers. With the University Orchestra in the pit, you'd be crazy to miss it!

Frank Johnstone and Evie Steele met in 1928. This is the story of two hugely successful vaudeville performers and their spectacular fall from grace. Featuring So & So's trademark acrobatic balancing and a fantastic story set against the backdrop of 1930's Music Hall, this show is a real one-off treat.

Opheus down under
Venue: New Theatre Royal
Date: Sat 27th Mar 2010
Time: 7:30 pm
How will Eurydice escape the suburbs and her intolerable husband, Orpheus?
What's it like to go down under with the King of the Underworld? Can Team Olympus out-do themselves?
And is the barbecue sauce on Bondi beach really better than ambrosia?
Offenbach's delightfully disrespectful tale loses none of its pith and verve in this uproarious updating from Unexpected Opera, last seen at the New Theatre Royal with The Barber of Savile Row.
A couple on the verge of divorce become entangled with the Gods and Goddesses of Greek Mythology, who are themselves embroiled in international competition as 'Team Olympus.' Full of charming songs and witty dialogue, it is performed by a cast of 12 and live musicians. Enjoy a global romp with the opera that introduced the world to the can-can!

Forever in your debt
Venue: New Theatre Royal
Date: Wed 31st Mar 2010
Time: 7:30 pm
A band rolls into town. Teetering on the edge of fi scal failure, their woeful stories of debt and despair weave a cautionary tale that pulls on our heartstrings, pricks our conscience, and prods the old pathos bone.
This gang of recession renegades might not be able to pay the bill but they can still top it. Even as the bailiff repossesses their instruments, they'll play to the last note, sing for their supper and if anyone has a penny to keep the lights on, put it in the meter.
